3. These terms vs. enrolling on a course

These terms cover using the website. The site is for information and to let you enquire about our courses. You cannot book or pay for a course directly through the website. If you go on to enrol with us, a separate agreement applies: the enrolment and induction terms you're given when you register, which include our fees, deposit and cancellation terms. Where those terms cover something also mentioned here, they take precedence for your enrolment. How we use personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

4. Using the site

You may use the site for lawful, personal or business-information purposes. You must not:

use the site in any unlawful or fraudulent way, or for any harmful purpose;
copy, scrape, republish, sell, or exploit the site or its content except as allowed below;
attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its servers, or any connected system;
introduce viruses or other malicious code, or attack the site (including denial-of-service attacks);
misuse the site in a way that damages it, disrupts it, or degrades it for others.

We may withdraw or suspend your access if you break these terms, and we may report serious breaches to the authorities.

We own or licence all intellectual property in the site and its content (text, graphics, logos, the "Glasgow Training Academy" branding, layout, and software). It's protected by copyright, trade marks, and other laws. The content on the site is provided for general information only. It isn't advice you should rely on for a licensing, immigration, legal or financial decision, and it may not always be complete or up to date. In particular:

Glasgow City Council (and the relevant council for your area) grants taxi and private hire licences and sets their requirements, not us. Always check the council's own guidance.
Qualifications Scotland is the awarding body for the SCQF Level 5 certificate, and FAIB for first aid; we are an approved centre that delivers and assesses their qualifications.
Nothing on the site is a guarantee that you will pass an assessment or be granted a licence.

Before acting on anything on the site, get appropriate official or professional advice.

Where the site links to third-party sites (such as Qualifications Scotland, Glasgow City Council or FAIB), those are provided for convenience only; we don't control them and aren't responsible for their content. You may link to our home page fairly and lawfully in a way that doesn't damage our reputation or suggest an association or endorsement that doesn't exist. We may withdraw linking permission at any time.

We don't guarantee the site will always be available or uninterrupted. We may suspend, withdraw, or change all or part of the site for business or operational reasons, and we won't always give notice. You're responsible for arranging your own access to the site.

We provide the site with reasonable care, but to the extent permitted by law we exclude the following in connection with your use of the site:

12. Law and jurisdiction

These terms, their subject matter, and their formation are governed by the law of Scotland. The courts of Scotland have jurisdiction.

13. General

If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest continues to apply. We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms (for example, on a sale or reorganisation of the business). These terms are between you and us; no one else has rights to enforce them.

14. Payment Notice & Anti-Fraud Warning

Glasgow Training Academy Ltd may provide bank details for payment by bank transfer and may also issue secure payment links for course fees and related charges. Payment instructions should be treated as valid only when sent through official Glasgow Training Academy Ltd communication channels.

ANTI-FRAUD WARNING: Glasgow Training Academy Ltd will not notify you of a change to its bank details by email alone without further verification. If you receive payment instructions, amended bank details, or a payment link that causes any doubt, you must verify them by telephone using trusted contact details obtained independently (Office: 0141 724 0000 or Mobile: 0752 537 4008) and not from the same message.

IMPORTANT: Do not send bank card details, online banking passwords, PINs, or security codes by email.

15. Email Security, System & Legal Notices

CONFIDENTIALITY NOTICE: Emails and any attachments sent by Glasgow Training Academy Ltd are intended only for the named recipient and may contain confidential information. If you are not the intended recipient, you must not use, copy, disclose, distribute, or rely on the contents. If you have received an email in error, please notify the sender immediately and delete it from your system.

SECURITY NOTICE: Reasonable precautions are taken to scan emails and attachments for viruses and malware. However, electronic communications are not completely secure, and recipients should carry out their own checks before opening attachments, clicking links, or relying on email content.

SYSTEM NOTICE: Electronic communications may be processed, filtered, scanned, and archived through our email security systems and service providers, including Mimecast where applicable.

LEGAL NOTICE: Nothing in an email or electronic communication creates a binding contract, legal undertaking, or waiver on behalf of Glasgow Training Academy Ltd unless expressly confirmed in writing by an authorised representative of the company.
